Bitcoin NFTs are gaining traction in the crypto world, and now one of the biggest names in the space is getting involved. Yuga Labs, the company behind popular NFT projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks, is launching a new venture called TwelveFold.

TwelveFold is a limited edition collection of 300 generative pieces, inscribed on satoshis on the Bitcoin blockchain. This is a departure from the Ethereum-based smart contract NFTs that have become popular in recent years. Instead, these Bitcoin ordinals are much more rigid and hard to maneuver around.

The interest in Bitcoin ordinals has been fueled by inquisitiveness and crypto enthusiasts, leading to a very ‘underground’ feel. With the launch of TwelveFold, this newfound interest from NFT collectors might not be just a fad.

Yuga Labs is hoping to capitalize on the hype surrounding Bitcoin NFTs. The company has stated that the TwelveFold project “will not have other utility or interact with or be related to any previous, ongoing, or future Ethereum-based Yuga projects.”

TwelveFold is sure to attract major dollars from some of the top spenders in NFTs, considering the immensely limited supply relative to other Yuga mints to date.

It remains to be seen what the long-term implications of Bitcoin NFTs will be. But with the launch of TwelveFold, it’s clear that the NFT community is paying attention. This could be the beginning of a whole new corner of the crypto ecosystem.
